The hearing aid is an advanced electronic device and should be treated as such. You should avoid getting the aid wet. This also includes moist environments like a steam bath or wet weather. Moisture can damage your hearing aid. If it should get wet, let it dry naturally with the battery door open. Never use a hair dryer or place the device in an oven to promote drying. Keep the aid away from excess heat. Do not place it on a hot surface or in direct sunlight. Cold can also affect the hearing aid, primarily by causing the battery to lose its power. Do not drop the hearing aid or attempt to open it. All of these tips and a good dose of common sense will help you keep your hearing aid in tip top shape for years to come. The information provided here is general in nature and should not substitute for the care and advice of a licensed health care provider.
